Yacht & Boat Cleaning

Recurring wash plans for yachts and boats at your slip across San Diego and Orange County. Weekly, biweekly, or monthly schedules. We handle everything right at the dock.

The Process

The HarborSide Cleaning Process

1. Marina Access & Inspection

We coordinate dock access and start each visit by checking the boat over for any spots that need extra attention. You do not need to be there. We work right at your slip and send photos when the wash is done.

2. Fresh-Water Pre-Rinse

A full rinse first knocks salt, pollen, and grit loose before any soap touches the gelcoat, so the wash lifts debris away instead of grinding it into the finish.

3. Hand Wash, Top Down

A gentle hand wash with marine-safe soap and soft mitts, worked from the top down so salt and grime never re-deposit on freshly cleaned surfaces.

4. Deck, Glass & Stainless

Non-skid scrubbed, glass cleaned streak-free, and stainless and chrome wiped down. These are the touches that keep a boat looking cared for between full details.

5. Hand Dry & Photo Update

A full hand dry-down to prevent water spots and mineral streaks, then a photo update so you know your boat is clean and ready whenever you are.

How Often

Recommended Frequency

Your boat sits in salt water every day of the year here, so the question is not whether to wash, but how often. The right cadence depends on how much you run the boat and where it is slipped.

Weekly keeps charter boats, rental fleets, and heavily used vessels in turnkey shape, and it is the move for slips under heavy pollen or bird traffic.

Biweekly is the sweet spot for most owners during the active season. It holds the finish and keeps salt from building up between details without overservicing.

Monthly is the minimum to keep a low-use or off-season boat protected. It catches salt and grime before they turn into a bigger detailing job.

Most owners pair a recurring wash with a full detail twice a year. We'll recommend a cadence after the first visit based on your boat's actual condition and how you use it, not a generic calendar.

Why Regular Cleaning Matters

Regular cleaning is the cheapest insurance your boat has. The moment salt water, pollen, and bird debris settle on the gelcoat, they start etching in. A consistent wash schedule lifts that buildup before it can stain or dull the finish, and it keeps the gap between full details short instead of letting grime turn into a restoration job.

In San Diego and Orange County, boats stay in the water year-round. There is no winter haul-out to give the finish a break, so salt spray and strong sun work on every surface twelve months a year. Washing on a set cadence is what protects the wax and gelcoat between details and keeps your boat ready to run, not chalking and fading at the slip.

HarborSide handles the upkeep on a schedule you set. We come to your slip, complete the wash, and send a photo update, so your boat is always ready when you are. Every wash uses premium Shine Supply marine products for a clean that protects, not just one that looks good for a day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at contact@harborsideyacht.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

How often should I wash my boat?

HarborSide offers weekly, biweekly, and monthly schedules. Weekly is best for charter and rental fleets or high-pollen slips. Biweekly is the standard for most owners during the active boating season. Monthly is the minimum to keep a low-use or off-season boat protected.

Do I need to be at the marina during the boat cleaning?

No, you do not need to be present. HarborSide coordinates marina access, completes the wash, and sends a photo update when finished.

What's included in a recurring boat wash?

Each wash includes a fresh-water pre-rinse, hand-wash exterior (hull and topsides), deck and non-skid wash, window and glass cleaning, stainless and chrome wipe-down, attention to the waterline, a hand dry-down to prevent water spots, and a photo update on completion.

What marinas does HarborSide serve for boat cleaning?

In San Diego: Mission Bay, Harbor Island, Shelter Island, Point Loma, Coronado, Downtown San Diego, and Oceanside. In Orange County: Dana Point Harbor and Newport Harbor, plus the surrounding docks and marinas.

Will the same people clean my boat each visit?

Yes. Recurring clients get priority scheduling and continuity from visit to visit, so your boat is serviced by people already familiar with it.

What products do you use for recurring boat cleaning?

Every wash uses Shine Supply marine products, the same professional line we use in our full detail service. That means pH-balanced soaps that are safe on gelcoat, wax, and ceramic coatings, soft mitts instead of stiff brushes, and streak-free glass and stainless products, so frequent washing protects the finish instead of wearing it.
